Bolt's Merchant-First Approach: Driving Measurable Revenue Growth for Enterprise Retailers
Jun 11, 2024

In the rapidly evolving world of ecommerce, one principle has remained at the heart of everything we do at Bolt: our merchants' success is our success. As I reflect on my years at Bolt, I'm struck by how deeply this ethos has shaped our growth, our innovation, and the transformative results we're delivering for our retail partners.
Take FWRD, the luxury sister brand of fashion powerhouse REVOLVE. REVOLVE were early enterprise adopters of Bolt, integrating our checkout platform for REVOLVE Gallery during Fashion Week. After that event proved to be a resounding success, they enlisted Bolt for FWRD's premiere pop-up shop in Aspen. What's even more telling is what came next.
Impressed by the pop-up performance, the leading portfolio of brands expanded Bolt across their entire online storefront. There was just one catch: they wanted to pressure-test Bolt's impact with rigorous A/B testing, pitting our solution head-to-head against their incumbent checkout. We were thrilled to oblige.
The outcome? During an A/B test conducted on US shoppers from November 2023 to December 2023, Bolt delivered a remarkable 10% overall conversion lift on mobile compared to FWRD’s traditional checkout. This wasn't a forecast or a projection, but cold, hard data, validated by analytics and provided by the merchant. For a cutting-edge brand like FWRD, Bolt didn't just promise a better checkout experience—we proved it, decisively, in a real-world environment.
This is the power of Bolt's merchant-first model. By aligning our success directly with our retailers' growth, we push the boundaries of what's possible in ecommerce. Bolt doesn't succeed unless our merchants do. It's that simple.
And succeed they have. Across our portfolio, Bolt is driving game-changing results. In addition to FWRD, we've welcomed iconic brands like Saks OFF 5TH, and Lafayette 148 into our network, which now includes over 80 million shoppers. On average, Bolt account holders convert 50% better than guest shoppers.
In my conversations with merchants, I often hear frustration with ecommerce providers who make lofty claims, but can't back them up with hard, merchant-verified numbers. At Bolt, we're taking a stand against this status quo. We believe that our retailers' success should be objectively measurable and independently validated.
That's why we're putting our money where our mouth is with an unprecedented new guarantee: implement Bolt and see your overall ecommerce revenue increase by at least 5%. If not, the retailer gets their your money back. Period.
This is a natural extension of our merchant-first ethos and the groundbreaking results we're already delivering for our retail partners. With Bolt's robust A/B testing capabilities, our merchants can precisely quantify the impact to their key metrics. If we don't deliver on our 5% growth promise, we'll refund the fees in full. No questions asked.
Looking ahead, I couldn't be more bullish about Bolt's potential to drive transformative growth for our merchant community. With exciting new partnerships on the horizon and a relentless focus on innovation, we're poised to set a new standard for what's possible in ecommerce.
So, to all the retailers out there who are ready to put their growth into hyperdrive: Bolt is ready for you. Our platform, our team, and our unshakable commitment to your success are at your service. Together, we're not just shaping the future of ecommerce—we're creating it, one transaction at a time.
