Bolt Announces Industry-Redefining Model for Payments Pricing and Game-Changing New Checkout Offerings
Apr 16, 2025

Bolt’s new record-low payments pricing democratizes commerce and levels the playing field for businesses of all sizes.
Today we could not be more excited to announce our radical new approach to pricing. This change will democratize access to low-cost payments for businesses of all sizes. And this has never been done before.
Effective immediately, for all new businesses that sign with Bolt, the company will charge a simple, transparent 2.1% + $0.30 for payment processing. There will be no fees kept on refunds (a major pain point in the industry) and record-low $5 fees on chargebacks. This flat rate allows small businesses to benefit from the power of Bolt checkout at a rate previously available to only the largest companies in the world.
One small step for Bolt. One big step in democratization of low-cost payments for everyone.
Bolt Checkout is a proven driver of business results, and when a customer uses their Bolt account at the start of checkout, everything accelerates. Bolt account holders convert 50% better than guest shoppers. Their checkouts take seconds instead of minutes. To sustain these high-performing experiences, there will be a 1.35% Network Fee when an existing user from the Bolt Shopper Network logs in before purchasing. All other transactions will have 0% additional network fee. This win-win pricing model gives businesses the lowest rates in the industry, while only charging an additional fee when Bolt delivers clear conversion value.
But we’re not stopping there.
- Bolt Charge—Bolt’s recurring charge and subscriptions solution is brand new to the Bolt stack and allows digital sellers to embed subscription plans into their checkout. The industry-norm pricing for this is 0.5% per transaction. Bolt is offering it also for free.
- Bolt Checkout OS—our full-stack checkout platform with 100s of integrations and best-in-class features—used to include a 1%+ software fee on every transaction. Starting today, it’s free.
- Bolt Check-in & SSO—our completely streamlined, passwordless login layer. This previously included a $0.50+ fee per login. Starting today, it’s also free.
- Bolt Checkout Everywhere—this solution extends our category-leading one-click to social posts, blog posts, customer service chats, emails, Google product listings, and more. All of this is also going to be free.
As a special limited-time promotion, developers and merchants who go-live with Bolt in the next 90 days will get the following special, limited-time offer: Standard fees (1.35%) charged up to the Bolt Shopper Network constituting 30% of their total transactions, half price (0.675%) after 30% and up until 50%, and zero network fees beyond 50%.
